The Hour is known by many names and its signs are realities which are essential for all Muslims to know and understand. The Quran is replete with references to the Day of Judgement and the Prophet (ﷺ) taught his companions the signs of its approaching in order to prepare them for what is to come. However, aside from teaching us the signs, he (ﷺ) also gave us priceless guidance to follow during those foretold turbulent times. With our collective destination being one, it is essential we, as Muslims, prepare for where we are going by understanding the signs along the way.
This course will explore the major and minor signs of the Day of Judgement as mentioned in the Quran and hadith literature in order for Muslims to remain aware, prepared and yet still hopeful. It will also provide an opportunity to differentiate between definitive and speculative proofs and scholarly opinions on the topic in order to clarify any misconceptions about these signs.
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to:
- Know the major and minor signs of the Day of Judgement.
- Understand what Muslims are required believed in and what is subject to difference of opinion.
- Understand the advice given to Muslims as The Hour approaches.
